It’s “How To” Tuesday and I am sitting at Starbuck’s in Cookeville, Tennessee.
I am posting this in conjunction with the meal we will serve at Power Monkey Camp 3.0 tonight, which we are calling the “Happy Ohana”. It is my Paleo rendition of the Happy Family that you see at many Asian restaurants. Instead of having to pick a protein, we are going to give you all of the protein we have. Ours tonight will include chicken, mini pork sausage meatballs, beef, shrimp, and Alaskan King Crab!!! The important part of this meal is that all of the veggies will be Asian Bias Cut! We’ve got onions, zucchini, and carrots that we’ll pair up with whole baby corn (not Paleo, uh oh!!! but naturally Asian Bias Cut) and straw mushrooms. We’ll start it all with sesame oil and healthy helpings of fresh garlic and ginger. Can you imagine?
I have a video and recipe on the site for Paleo Happy Family, which is very similar. We have been using the Ohana mentality in the kitchen this week. Ohana means “family” in Hawaiian, so we’re going with that. The other thought was “Happy Camper”, but Ohana means so much more to me, so we’re going with that. Got it?
