I didn’t even know what fresh garlic was until I turned 14 and got a job at an Italian restaurant. Every dish in the restaurant started with olive oil and a handful of fresh garlic and I’ve been hooked ever since. It is fair to say that my hands smelled like garlic all through high school, as a matter of fact “I” smelled like garlic all through high school. But, enough on that.

Garlic is purported to prevent cancer, heart disease, platelet aggregation and hyperlipidemia. Whether these claims are true or not, I suggest eating it anyway. The stuff tastes great and what do you have to lose? Except maybe your fresh breath.

When we make diet decisions that exlcude most of the conventionally available condiments, then we have to turn to natures bounty to help us add real flavor to our food. Garlic is just the answer to this Paleo Predicament.
